QUICK LIT BITE OF THE DAY!
William Wells Brown-Born into slavery in Kentucky in 1815 and eventually moved to Massachusetts. He wrote his memoir, "Narrative of William W. Brown, a Fugitive Slave." It was written by himself, and was published by the Boston Anti-Slavery Office in 1847. The book was very popular and went through four editions in the United States and was also published in several British editions.
