QUICK LIT BITE OF THE DAY

Anna Sewell-was an English novelist, best known as the author of the classic novel "Black Beauty."

Black Beauty (novel)-1877 novel written by Anna Sewell. The novel became an immediate bestseller, with Sewell dying just five months after its publication, long enough to see her first and only novel become a success. While teaching animal welfare, it also teaches how to treat people with kindness, sympathy and respect.
 
*Black Beauty was banned in South Aftrica from 1948 to 1994 during the years of aparthied. Due to the title it was mistakenly thought to be about a black woman.*
