QUICK LIT BITE OF THE DAY! FAB LIT THINGS TO KNOW!

Fabulous, fantastic, and interesting are what literature truly represents! Here are some "quick lit bites" to get you motivated and inspired to read, write, and immerse yourself in literature.

QUICK LIT BITE OF THE DAY

Kingsley Amis-was an English novelist, poet, critic and teacher. He wrote more than 20 novels, six volumes of poetry, a memoir, and various short stories, radio and television scripts, along with works of social and literary criticism. Amis’s first novel, Lucky Jim (1954), is perhaps his most famous. The novel satirizes the high-brow academic set of a Redbrick university, seen through the eyes of its protagonist, Jim Dixon, as he tries to make his way as a young lecturer of history. The novel was perceived by many as part of the Angry Young Men movement of the 1950s which reacted against the stultifications of conventional British life, though Amis never encouraged this interpretation.
